The Man In Love
A Product of God’s Love
Then God said, “Let Us make man in Our image, according to Our likeness; let them have dominion over the fish of the sea, over the birds of the air, and over the cattle, over all the earth and over every creeping thing that creeps on the earth.” So God created man in His own image; in the image of God He created him; male and female He created them. Then God blessed them, and God said to them, “Be fruitful and multiply; fill the earth and subdue it; have dominion over the fish of the sea, over the birds of the air, and over every living thing that moves on the earth.”

Man is a product purely of the love of God. It takes nothing but love for the Almighty God, the maker of heaven and earth, to create man in His own image and after His likeness. In fact, man was created after the image of the triune God – Father, Son and Holy Spirit – and after their likeness. The scripture says that God said “let us” create man after “our image” and “our likeness.” By “our” in the scripture, God was referring to the three persons of the Godhead. David wondered at that kind of love shown toward man by God when He said in Psalm 144:3 and Psalm 8:4,
Lord, what is man, that You take knowledge of him? Or the son of man, that You are mindful of him?
