The offering that is acceptable to God must be from one who walks in righteousness before Him. That offering will be pleasant to the Lord. The refiner that purifies is the Holy Spirit, who husbands must engage in their quest to maintain a holy and righteous walk with God.
The Sacrifice of Thanksgiving
But I will sacrifice to You with the voice of thanksgiving; I will pay what I have vowed. Salvation is of the Lord.
