The Man In Love
God’s Pursuit Of Reconciliation
He who did not spare His own Son, but delivered Him up for us all, how shall He not with Him also freely give us all things?
Romans 8:32
The scripture says that God did not hold back His Son but instead gave Him up out of love, to die for us. This was so that we all can be reconciled to Him. John 3:16 makes the love motivation of this great gesture of God so obvious.
For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life. For God did not send His Son into the world to condemn the world, but that the world through Him might be saved.
John 3:16-17
God gave Jesus to redeem us from the death that Adam’s fall brought us into. His love for us moved Him to do so. He simply has no desire for us to perish but to enjoy eternal life, dwelling with Him. The same love that prompted Him to create man in His image and likeness, and to provide for Him in the manner that He did, also moved Him to make arrangements for Jesus to come and pay for the sins of Adam.
