Race
Written by Doherty Damilola Abiodun
Life is like a Race but you are the only
runner
Slow and steady, you are a Gunner
Be cautious of the time, because it's
runing
Your heart is beating, you are the only
one listening
Sorrows and happiness switching the
baton
Don't pay attention to the crowd, they
are merely distractions
Don't look back on the miles you have
covered it's just a Race
You will be acknowledged by The pace,
judging from the Base
With a swollen face, we are graced by his
grace
Don't be in a haste, it's just a Race
Where war is the order of the day!
Equal Right and Justice are locked out of
the gate
Freedom and Liberty are left behind
Look! It's just a Race
Cheering crowds, jubilant Friends With
no Ends
A colourful gathering with no colour
Neither white or black
A beautiful view with a mouthful crew
Yet they can't review my duece
I ran towards the finish line with zeal
It's just a Race with no end but peace!
