Living on CAMPUS
Residences/Accommodation
The Campus provides a tranquil and safe environment for those who choose to
reside on campus. Student residences accommodate a maximum of two students
per room, giving students enough privacy for them to concentrate on their studies.
The rooms come with standard fixtures, which include beds, desk, chairs and
curtains. Students however, share ablution facilities.
Student Counseling & Support Services
Counsellors within the Directorate of Student Affairs support students when they
encounter problems in their fields of study, or when they
experience personal or health related problems.
Meals on Campus
All student accommodation within the University of Namibia system comes with
a mandatory breakfast. This is to ensure that all our students are served with a
well-balanced meal in order to help them concentrate and do well in their studies.
Catering facilities are available during the course of the day and such facilities
cater to all students, including the great number of student commuters.
Field Kitchens
In some of the student residence blocks, provision is made for field kitchens,
where students are allowed to cook (self-cater) for themselves. Field kitchens are
equipped with a stove, a microwave and refrigerators.
Sporting Facilities
The Katima Mulilo Campus has a medium sized gym for students and staff on
campus, a soccer pitch, tennis and netball courts. The Main Hall also serves as a
multi-purpose venue for indoor sporting activities.
