 Abbie Grant -0.5/2/3/5
Abbie Grant, age 19, is the middle child of the Grant Family. She began showing at a young age, and excelled with her favorite pony, Jack, with whom she won many big shows. She began playing polo with Kelly Wells at age 10 and was a member of the Maryland Girls Varsity Team for six years, winning five National Titles. She was named the Girls Interscholastic Player of the Year. Abbie graduated from the Bryn Mawr School in 2019, and is currently at the University of St. Andrews in Scotland. She continues to play polo in university and this past February her team won their division at the SUPA Winter Nationals, where she was also awarded MVP.
Maddie Grant 0.5(1)/3/5/8
Maddie Grant, age 19, is the oldest of the three Grant sisters and began riding at a very young age. She began playing polo at age ten with Kelly Wells at Marlan Farm. Maddie was the captain of the Maryland Girls Varsity team for three years, where she won four National Interscholastic Championships in five consecutive years. Her favorite polo memory to date was winning the 2018 U.S. Women's Arena Handicap with her two younger sisters, Abbie and Sophie. Polo has taken her many places throughout the United States, as well as, Spain and Argentina. Maddie graduated from Bryn Mawr in 2018 and attends the University of Virginia, where she is a member of the Girl's Varsity Team.
Sophie Grant 0.5(1)/3/4(5)/7
Sophie Grant, age 17, is the youngest of the three Grant sisters. She began riding at the age of two and started playing polo with Kelly Wells at the age of 8. Sophie has won three Girl's National Interscholastic Championships with the Girls Maryland Varsity team coached by Kelly Wells. This past year, Sophie switched from The Bryn Mawr School to online school in order to travel and play more outdoor polo. She spent her Fall in Aiken, SC and during the winter played for Tiger Kneece on the Aiken Youth Interscholastic team.
William Green 1/3
Will is a rising junior at the University of Kentucky, where he is playing on the Intercollegiate polo team. During high school, Will played with the West Shore Polo team making it to the National Finals in 2017. During the summer, he enjoys playing outdoor polo here at Maryland Polo, and also at Newbridge Polo Club in Aiken. One of the highlights last summer was winning the 6 Goal Constitution Cup tournament here at Maryland Polo with friends Tommy Huber, Daymar Rosser, and Jake Brown. Will is looking forward to a fun season here this summer.
