 Cindy Halle 0/2/3/5
Cindy is well known as a player and coach and was one of the first MPC members. Starting her polo career at UC Davis, she then coached polo at Garrison Forest School for 21 years, amassing 9 National titles and sending many players on to collegiate polo success. She created the West Shore team for non-GFS students and West Shore won the Open Interscholastic title in 2015. Besides introducing many players to the sport, she also devotes time to umpiring and player clinics. In her downtime she volunteers in Baltimore City and loves to travel . She lives with her husband, Ned in Upperco. They have two grown children, Ellen and Nick.
George Hempt 2/4
George, the son of Max Hempt and his wife Amy, is a fifth generation polo player. He started riding at an early age, and began to play polo competitively years ago. He played in Interscholastic tournaments on the promising West Shore Interscholastic team under the direction of Cindy Halle and Posey Obrecht where the team won a National Championship Tournament. George will be playing for his father’s West Shore Polo team this summer. He is a senior at Roger Williams University in Bristol, Rhode Island majoring in Construction Management . In 2017 he led Roger Williams Polo to their first Intercollegiate National Championship!
Max Hempt 0/2
Max is from a polo family and a fourth generation player. There will be a fifth generation, because both Ellen, 23, and George, 21, are playing polo. Happily, Max’s wife, Amy, is very supportive of family polo. George will be playing with Max for their West Shore Polo Team this season. From their farm in Camp Hill, Pa., the family also continues to campaign Standardbred race horses throughout the U.S. and Canada. Max is Vice President and Treasurer of The Harness Horse Museum and Hall of Fame in Goshen NY. Max is President and CEO of his family’s construction business, Hempt Brothers, Inc., and President of Associated Pennsylvania Constructor. Max usually plays the #4 position.
Louisa Huber 0/2/4/5
Louisa just completed her second year at the University of Kentucky. She plans to major in social work and is a member of the Pi Phi sorority. She played interscholastic polo on the West Shore polo team for the duration of her high school career, and continues to play Intercollegiate polo at UK.
