"This way. Come, come." She walks in front of him, guiding him, pointing in the
direction to one of the hallways close by. Elegantly, with a floating gait she ap-
pears aristocratic to him. When they stop outside in front of her room door;
number 18, Tom can see she has a problem with her leg. She proceeds to take out
her keys from the purse and opens the door. She read his mind.
“Yes, I have had my knee replaced. It was kind of worn out I guess you could say.
My family thought it was for the better that I should reside here for a few weeks,
until everything is back to normal again.“
Tom doesn’t answer before she continues: “Well, it wasn’t my idea to be here in
this place. I’d prefer to stay in my flat in Holte. Oh, I really do miss it. Well, only
one week left."

meet me," he continues. She answers with a smile. “No need to be so formal
around me, Tom,” she utters.
They enter her living room where there is coffee and cake prepared.
“I thought I might as well prepare for your visit, I understand you are very busy
these days "
In addition to the living room, the flat consists of a toilet located in the small hall-
way, a kitchen as an extension of the living room, and a small bedroom behind a
little door to the left. The curtains in her room are old in an old 60’s style. The
place seems cosy and warm, smelling clean with a hint of perfume, but one he
doesn’t know. On top of the burgundy sofa, hangs a painting depicting a village
from the 17 century.

"Take a seat, my friend. Tea or coffee?"
“Tea. Thank you.” He nods while he takes a seat on the couch. Shortly after, she
returns with the hot tea, in a teapot that’s neatly matching the edge of the table.
She pours up the tea.
"I must admit I didn’t expect you to be... like this."
