She hands him his expensive Dolce & Gabbana glasses. He does not put them on,

but holds them up as a magnifying glass in front of his eyes as he opens the
                   jewelled heart.

"Now listen," he says, reading out load

"Meine liebe Gudrun." He takes the second small plate. "Dein Walther."
“My dear Gudrun. Your Walther?” Ahmed asks, “So it’s an old couple.”

"How sweet," Olina says, gently taking the chain out of his hands, while he gives

                   the glasses back to her.
“Listen carefully. I haven't told you about Walther yet, but I'm aware of him."

"Yes?" Ahmed says with a surprised expression on his face.
“Walther is the founder of the Kräsen Company,” says Tom with strikingly

                   ironic self-solemnity.

“I first encountered Walther when I was in the Munich National Archives. There
he was listed as the owner and founder of Kräsen. When the war ended, it didn’t

take many years before his son, Dieter, took over the family business. Today it is

run and owned as you all know by Gustav Kräsen, who for some reason has
chosen to have a strikingly withdrawn role in my company compared to his

                   father and grandfather. "
"I need to have a smoke. Are you coming, Ahmed?" says Olina.

"I know you both are going home now, but I still want to read one of the letters

from the jewellery box before you leave."
Tom takes the letter out of the box while the other two blows smoke out the

                   open window.

"Is there more?" Olina seems confused, to a contrast.
Tom takes the letter out of the envelope and can sense that he immediately gets

a strange and unpleasant feeling. He starts reading the letter out loud for the

                   second time.
