Lahir di Jakarta pada tahun 1960 dan tinggal sebagian besar waktu di Jakrta. Menikah dan dikaruniai 2
putri. Saat ini aktif di Himpunan Matematikawan Indonesia (sebagai Wakil Presiden untuk kepengurusan
2012-2014 dan 2014-2016) dan Masyarakat Kombinatorika Indonesia (sebagai Wakil Presiden untuk
kepengurusan 2009-2012, sebagai Presiden tahun kepengurusan 2013-2015 dan 2015-2017). Beberapa
kali menjadi nara sumber, panitia pengarah serta panitia pelaksana di beberapa seminar nasional dan
internasioanl matematika (terutama teori graf) di Indonesia dan luar negeri.
