Different sub-surface drainage patterns can be used to move

water from a soil profile. Proper drainage installation is

critical for turfgrass health, especially in a putting green.

Below are three common patterns: the Herringbone,

Gridiron, and Modified Herringbone with ‘Smile’ Perimeter

Line.
