Praise and thanks to The Lord, Almighty God, for His kindness and mercy
to the writer to finally finish The Foreign Language for Senior School Grade XI
Textbook Series For The First and Second Semester.
To be based on future logic thoughts, this textbook is compiled base on
teachers’ and students’ need who are restricted by the lack of books especially
oriented to Foreign Language Learning.
This Guiding Book is compiled with different content, model and physically
designed in more creative cover, so that the students can be more enthusiasm in
learning English.
There is no significant difference between Foreign Language and English
Subject all this time, in other word, the items in Foreign Language Subject have not
exceedingly been focused yet on Learning English as a Foreign Language that
properly contains 90 percents of conversation practices leading to understanding
that it should provide a more specific communicative function of language while
General English Subject contains four language skills that is dominated by
traditional reading, therefore, this textbook is compiled together with the
communicative function items.
This textbook contains the items of Foreign Language Learning presented to
students XI. The approaching of writing this Textbook uses a Situational and
Communicative Approach so that by integration can improve the students’ ability
in speaking actively, effectively and efficiently. Besides, the items, rehearsals, and
tasks in this textbook are compiled cohesively to improve students’ concepts in
managing their wide worlds and using the principle of etiquette communication.
Referring to the teaching material, this textbook is arranged by some parts i.e.
Preliminary Practice as its Communicative Function, Fixed Expression as its Gist,
Grammar, Word or Phrase Expressions, Rehearsals, and Tasks as its Target
Structure while Words and Pronunciation, Check, and Have Fun With Game as its
Language of Interaction.
There are only plenty of Rehearsals and Tasks on this textbook as means to
the teachers to be more creative in making Rehearsals and Tasks by his/her own
ways.
