randSource Canada members have just met this past October 3rd for their Annual BrandSource Summit which was held in conjunction with the Annual Mega Convention in beautiful Québec City. While BrandSource meetings consisted
of Web, Marketing and Category reviews, the participants had the incredible chance to listen to two great speakers during the Convention. First up was Michael “Pinball” Clemons, an icon of sporting excellence, community leadership, personal character and integrity. The Economics graduate is the pro-football world record holder in all-purpose yards which earned him induction into the CFL Hall of Fame. The author, philanthropist and entrepreneur is currently the vice-chair of the Toronto Argonauts. His motivational speech impressed and impacted all in attendance. The keynote speaker was David Coletto, CEO and a founding partner of Abacus Data, a full-service market research and public opinion research firm based here in Ottawa. With almost a decade of experience in the industry, David and his partners founded Abacus 6 years ago, and since then it has grown into one of Canada’s most respected market research firms. His presentation on Millennials: Keys to manage them and sell to them was an informative session for members. A series of workshops and a buy fair completed the event.
The Summit also marked the close of a successful initiative by BrandSource in support of Ronald McDonald House Charities Canada. Launched in January 2016, the Thanks for the Helping Hand! Project raised over $64,000 through in-store donations, fundraising BBQs held in August and member donations. Each participating member is donating funds collected to the nearest Ronald McDonald House or Family Room. YS
