We’ve all heard the phrases “work-life balance” and “having it all” but what we don’t hear are the unfiltered truths from those trying to accomplish this. Our YPs discussed what trying to create a balanced life actually looks and feels like and what’s the best way to try and do it. Below are the tips and tricks they came up with to achieve a healthy work life balance.
• When you’re home put away your laptop & cell phones
• Create a to do list
• Create a routine and stick to it
• Set boundaries at work & at home
• Have a well planned out calendar
• Email/message yourself reminders and notes
• Be realistic, you can’t please everyone
• Start earlier to make time for yourself
• Prioritize your time
• Be Flexible
• Communicate with your staff
• Organize your personal time
• Delegate & trust others
• Learn to say no
• Effective communication
• Be present in the moment at all time
• Designate “work talk” times when working with family & friends
• Share your calendar with family
• When staff calls with questions ask them “what would you do?”
• Setting goals
• Find happiness in work and life
• Find something that relaxes you
