Baederwood Mixed-Use Redevelopment
Owner/User: Brandolini Companies
Location: Jenkintown, Pennsylvania
Design Statement: As part of a company-wide movement
to update their aging retail shopping centers, Brandolini
Companies engaged Bernardon to provide master planning
and architectural design for the redevelopment of Baderwood
Shopping Center into a mixed-use, pedestrian-friendly
development. Various concepts for the redevelopment
were proposed including multiple mixed-use buildings with
200,000 SF of first floor retail space and 400 residential units.
Also proposed are Live/Work units lining the street edge
along The Fairway, a new Whole Foods Grocery Store with
underground parking, a 200-unit age-restricted residential
building, and a new second floor movie theater with direct
access to the proposed parking garage.
