Location: Paoli, Pennsylvania
Design Statement: Bernardon provided architectural
and interior design services to transform an existing
distribution center for a mail order catalogue business into
a new headquarters for Turn5, a company that sells after-
market car accessories to car enthusiasts. Their two brands
are American Muscle which caters to the Ford Mustang, and
Xtreme Terrain which is intended to enhance the Chrysler
Jeep. The 90,000 SF building includes state-of-the-art video
production space where employees show car enthusiasts
do-it-themselves projects; a Turn5 Timeline Wall and Core
Values mural; two coffee bars made from up-cycled shipping
containers; a bowling alley, digital golf simulator, pinball
machine, and outdoor Baggo court and horseshoe pits.
To support its pledge to create at least 180 new jobs at the new
facility, Turn5 received a $200,000 Pennsylvania First Program
grant, $45,000 in WednetPA funding for employee training, and
$366,000 in Job Creation Tax Credits. The company also has a
customer service call center and dyno/shop area about four miles
away from the headquarters, also designed by Bernardon.
