CONDITIONAL TYPE 1&2
Conditional sentence type 1
This type of sentence refers to a possible condition and its probable result. These sentences are
based on the fact, and they are used to make statements about real world, and about particular
situation. We often use such sentences to give warnings.
e.g. :
IF there is a snake, I WILL definitely run away.
IF someone attack me from behind, I WILL kick him.
Conditional sentence type 2
The type of conditional sentence refers to an unlikely or hypothetical condition and its probable
result. These sentences are not based on the actual situation. In the type 2 conditional sentence,
the time is now or anytime and the situation is hypothetical.
e.g.:
IF the weather wasn’t so bad, WE WOULD go to the park.
IF I knew where she lived, I WOULD go and see her.
IF you really loved me, YOU WOULD buy me the diamond.
