This is the first book in a series of two books on Health and
Environment for primary schools. The book has been prepared

in line with the 2016 Standard One syllabus. It comprises eight
chapters which will help the pupil to develop basic competencies
in health and the environment. Also, it will help the pupil to
build their reading, writing and arithmetic skills. The pupil is

advised to read this textbook carefully in order to understand
and develop the intended competencies. The pupil may also
seek assistance from friends, parents and teachers in case of
any difficulty.
