Valrica Darrylnell Norton, age 55, was born on October 27, 1965 in Helena. Arkansas 10 1he union
of Rosie Lee Banks and George Henry Banks. She was the baby girl of the family affectionately
known as Vari and Val.

Vulrica was the biological mother or three children, however she was a bonus mom 10 many. Her
home was alway!> open 10 anyone and she never hesitated to be a listening car or a lihoulder to cry
on. She was also a devoted grandmother. Vnlrica ndored all her grandchildren and 1J1ey equally
adored their Granny. She woL1ld spend hours on FaceTime with her gmnclbabiesjust to wntch them
play with toys nnd tell her about their latest adventures. Valrica was on anwzing cook. Two
fovori1es of many were her spaghelii and 7-UP Cake. She was also the neighborhood slush lady.
Every Summer, people throughout the city could not wai110 ge1 one of Ms. Valrica's slushes with a
Kool-Aid pickle on the side.

Valrica worked for Mid-Delta Communi1y Services as a Transit Driver for over 18 years before her
retirement in 2016. Though she retired from public transit. she was oflen seen using her personal
vehicle to transport any who needed a ride.

Vnlrica was loved by mony ond continued helping everyone she could until her untimely tmnsition
on Friday, December 18, 2020.
She is preceded in death by her husband Willie Norton, Sr.; her patemol grandparents. Henry and
Lucille Banks; her maternal grandparents. Josephine Stanley and Leander Williams; her parents,
George and Rosie Banks; four brothers, Michael Banks, Van Coleman, Alvin Banks, and George
Banks, Jr.; live sis1ers, Danielle Banks, Chandra Rice, Diane Young, Cathy No11on, and Kiesha
Norton-Dowd; one gra.ndson. De'Korion Norton; two special aunts, Visie Williams and Melinda
Thomas. and an incredibly special cousin. Lydia McGinistcr.

Valrica leaves to cherish her memory, three children: Shaneca (Eddie) Smith of Maumelle. AR,
Willie Norton, Jr. of Helena-West Helena. AR, and Michael Norton of Jonesboro, AR: six grand-
children: Tyler Surnn1age and Eden Smith both of Maumelle, AR, Kailyi1 Hardison, Jersie Brielle
Norton, and Michael Norton, Jr .. all of Helena-West Helena. AR. and Aunisty Norton or Jockson-
vitlc, AR; fifteen brothers. Nathaniel Banks and Darnell (Flora) Braggs, bo1h of Maywood, IL.
Willie Davis of Chicago, IL, Marshall (Colle110) Banks and Jerry Banks. both of Topeka. KS, Milton
