David Hampton
David Hampton was born in Tulsa and graduated from Broken Arrow High School in 1967. After a stint in the U. S. Army from 1970-1973 where he was a Lao language translator, he graduated from the University of Okla- homa in 1977 with a BBA in accounting. He worked in Tulsa for accounting firms and private businesses until he retired in 2011. Besides his genealogy interests, he has been an active tournament bridge player for over 50 years
and won a national bridge championship in 2017. He currently lives in the Shady Grove Community between Tahlequah and Hulbert. David began working on his family tree in April, 1961 when he was eleven. For the past 20 years he has been concentrating his research efforts on documented Chero- kee lines. Since 2009 he has done genealogy reports for the Cherokee Remember the Removal bike riders. He is active in the Oklahoma Chapter of the Trail of Tears Association, the Goingsnake District Heritage Association and the Association of the Descendants of Nancy Ward where he has served as President since 1994.
