Jeannie Barbour
Chickasaw artist and author Jeannie Barbour currently serves as Creative Development Director for the Communications Department at the Chicka- saw Nation. Her work includes illustrations and essays featured in a variety of books and periodicals focused on southeastern Native American history and culture. She served as content producer for several of the Chickasaw Nation’s award winning films and documentaries including Te Ata, Mont-
ford: The Chickasaw Rancher and other projects—currently in script development. She is a graduate of the prestigious Leadership Oklahoma program and has served on the Oklahoma Film Commission and the National Trail of Tears advisory board. Jeannie was a recipient of the Oklahoma Governor’s Arts Award for contributions to the arts in 2015. She is a graduate of Oklahoma State University and the University of Denver Publishing Institute.
