REVISED SYLLABUS

HUMAN AND SOCIAL BIOLOGY
The final draft syllabus was submitted to the October 2019
meeting of SUBSEC and approval was given. The syllabus will
be released to schools for teaching in September 2020, for
first examination in May–June 2022.

D. MODERN LANGUAGES
Permission was granted by SUBSEC for the full revamping of
the Modern Languages Offerings in 2017. The final draft of the
CXC Language Framework was developed in 2018 and the
first Panel meeting to align the Council’s Modern Languages
syllabuses to the requirements of the CXC Language
Framework was held in September 2019. At this meeting, the
proficiency level for each product (CCSLC, CSEC and CAPE)
was determined and draft syllabuses developed accordingly.
The draft syllabuses will be further refined and finalised
and the Specimen Papers, Mark Schemes and Answer Keys
developed at a second Panel Meeting to be held in 2020.
The finalised syllabuses will reflect the best approaches to
teaching, learning, assessing and certifying modern languages
proficiencies.
