Disadvantages of Self-Assessment
1. Students may give inaccurate self-judgments as they may either overestimate or
underestimate their performances.
2. May be considered as time consuming as students see it as added work.
Role of the teacher in Self-Assessment
1. Provide or negotiate clear assessment criteria.
2. Train students to understand the criteria and how to apply it to the requirements of
the task.
3. Support students in self-assessment.
