A Day At The Beach
I packed my mini beach bag, had breakfast, got
dressed in a skimpy red jumper and out the door
I dashed. Skipping along the dusty path that led
towards the main road, I began thinking of how
excited I felt as it was the beginning of our
summer vacation; no more school work for a bit
and just the freedom to do whatever I wanted.
The next few weeks were all mine.
Within twenty minutes, eager eyes glowed as we
met at the beach. A head count was made and we
stayed in close proximity to where my older
brother was, so that he could easily see us. I was
the first to get changed into my colourful two
piece beach wear and headed straight into the
shimmering blue seawater. “Ouch!” “This is as
cold as ice!” Even though the sun was so hot the
water was not welcoming at all.
Moments later, we were having a great time, as
we ran in and out of the water, splashing and
trying to duck one another playfully, our bodies
having gotten used to the temperature.
