               SEC (7) 2017
                                  SUMMARY REPORT OF NATIONAL COMMITTEES


               1.     The SEC is asked to note that reports have been received from the territories listed
                      below:

                      -  Barbados
                      -  Belize
                      -  Jamaica
                      -  Montserrat
                      -  St. Vincent and the Grenadines
                      -  Trinidad and Tobago

               2.      The attached summarized report presents a synthesis of the activities of the National
               Committee in each territory during 2017.  The SEC is asked to note that the report highlights
               issues as well as recommendations on how the CXC could improve its operations and strengthen
               its relationship with stakeholders.   The full report of each National Committee can be found in
               the Appendices.

               SYNTHESIS OF THE REPORTS OF NATIONAL COMMITTEES FOR 2017

               3.    The National Committee reports are centered on the issues listed below:
                           -  CPEA®, CCSLC®, CVQ®, CSEC® and CAPE® EXAMINATIONS
                           -  Workshops
                           -  Major Issues and Concerns
                           -  Recommendations and Appreciation

               CPEA®

               4.      The CPEA® continues to be described as a great programme for primary school students.
               Montserrat expressed concern about the non-receipt of the 2016 CPEA® report for that country
               and reported that the occurrence had a negative impact on that country’s ability to perform
               analyses to inform interventions for improvements.  It was also reported that Montserrat had
               made  a  request  to  the  Council  for  the  inclusion  of  an  expressive  component  in  the  CPEA®
