By the Way, My Name is James

My mom would not let me go anywhere, even if it

was down to the playground to make new
friends. She says everyone that I meet who are

not family are strangers and that I should be

aware of strangers. I was a young boy, just turned

11.

I was very tall for my age and very skinny. I had a

sense of adventure and knew that I was

responsible enough to take care of myself and I

wanted to make new friends.

One Saturday, during my summer vacation,

I played games on my Nintendo 3DS for three

straight hours while mom and dad were taking a

nap. I eventually got bored and decided to go up

to my room to do some reading.

It was a little after 6 p.m. and it had started to get

dark outside but there was enough light for me

to get the book from the bookshelf without

switching on the light.
