Again, without thought and bubbling with
excitement, the girls beamed and said “We want
to become mermaids.”
The lagoon in a booming voice declared, “It is
done!” and a light streak went up into the sky and
disappeared. The girls looked at each other but
they were still humans. They thought it was a joke
and headed back to their camping site.
The next day when the girls awoke, they
discovered that they had tails.
