Village sanitation is primitive but anti-malaria measures have reduced the incidence of
Malaria considerably and the residual spraying helps to keep down the fly population. Further
measures on the lines already indicated arc necessary.
The number of sanitary inspections carried out during the period under review is shown
in Table “B”.

Anti-Malarial Measures. Bahrain Government conducted control measures over three-
quarters of the total area of the island and the R.A.F. and the Bahrain Petroleum Company
Limited operated in the remaining portion. The measures employed continued to consist o

prevention of breeding places. The number of breeding places detected and treated uring
the period under review was as follows :—
