SEPTEMBER, OCTOBER, NOVEMBER AND DECEMBER, 1953.
Vehicles. The total number of vehicles registered up to the 31 st December, 1953 was 2,876.
Accidents. A total of 33 accidents was reported during the last four months of 1953.
four of which were fatal, and 18 persons were injured. Pedestrians were concerned in seven
eases, one fatal, a male child of 7 years. Three other children were injured.
Traffic Offences. The number of persons prosecuted in both Courts for Traffic offences
was 32. Total fines amounted to Rs. 497/-.
Driving Tests. 510 driving tests were carried out, of which 187 passed the required
standard.
Revenue. Cash receipts for the four months ending 31st December, 1953, totalled
Rs. 82,469/-.
