Explanatory Notx*.
1. Tlie sequence of articles adopted in those statistical tables is that cmplojod
in the Persian official tmde returns (which are printed in French).
2. Up to aud including the year 1905, the statistics given in the reports on the
trade of the Consular district of Bushire have been specially compiled from the
Persian official records for calendar years. The official Persian trade return*,
however, relate to years ended March 20 of each tear, and the figures given for
lJXXr-07 in the present report relate to the Persian year, instead of calendar year
as heretofore. This change of practice, which is to be continued, will facilitate the
preparation of future report*, and bring them into line with reports on the trade of
other Consular districts of Persia.
3. In consequence of the change mentioned above, particulars of the trade of
Busbire during the first quarter (January to March) of the year 1906 have
necessarily been omitted from tli-s main tables, and in order to complete the records
of the trade of the district these particulars, together with those for tlio corre
sponding periods of 1905 and 15*07, have been given iu the Supplementary Tables
