                                                Explanatory Notx*.
                             1.  Tlie sequence of articles adopted in those statistical tables is that cmplojod
                         in the Persian official tmde returns (which are printed in French).
                             2.  Up to aud including the year 1905, the statistics given in the reports on the
                         trade of the Consular district of Bushire have been specially compiled from the
                         Persian official records for calendar years. The official Persian trade return*,
                         however, relate to years ended March 20 of each tear, and the figures given for
                         lJXXr-07 in the present report relate to the Persian year, instead of calendar year
                         as heretofore. This change of practice, which is to be continued, will facilitate the
                         preparation of future report*, and bring them into line with reports on the trade of
                         other Consular districts of Persia.
                            3.  In consequence of the change mentioned above, particulars of the trade of
                         Busbire during the first quarter (January to March) of the year 1906 have
                         necessarily been omitted from tli-s main tables, and in order to complete the records
                         of the trade of the district these particulars, together with those for tlio corre­
                         sponding periods of 1905 and 15*07, have been given iu the Supplementary Tables
                         c-omprised in Annex &
