                             AJMAN OIL CONCESSION
       Oil Concession Agreement between Petroleum Concessions Limited, and the Ruler
                           of Ajman, dated January 31, 1951
           In the Name of God the Merciful.
          This is an Agreement made at Ajman on the 31st January 1951 c/t 23rd day of
       Rabia Thani 1370 between His Excellency Shaikh Rashid bin Humaid in the
       exercise of his powers as Ruler of Ajman, on his own behalf and on behalf of and
       in the name of his heirs and successors to whom is or shall be vested for the time
       being the responsibility for the control and Government of the State of Ajman
       (hereinafter called “ The Shaikh ”) of the one part and Petroleum Concessions         .
       Limited, a Company' registered in Great Britain under the Companies Act, 1926
       (hereinafter called “ The Company ”), its successors and assigns of the second part.

                                     Article 1
           (a)  The area to which this Agreement applies is the State of Ajman, including
       all Islands and Territorial Waters appertaining thereto [and all the sea-bed and
       subsoil under these Territorial waters, including the Territorial waters of the
       Islands, and all the sea-bed and subsoil lying beneath the waters which lie outside
       the Territorial waters of Ajman and contiguous to the Territorial waters of Ajman
       over which the Ruler’s jurisdiction and control extends or may hereafter extend,
       or which now or hereafter may form part of the areas over which the Ruler has or
       may have mineral oil rightsl (hereinafter referred to as “ The State ”) being all that
       Territory included in the Shaikhdom of Ajman.
           The Shaikh agrees that when a delimitation of the lands and the waters apper­
       taining to the State of Ajman have been determined the area covered by the Con­
       cession will be coterminous with the limits so determined.
           (b) Nothing in this agreement shall be read as restricting—in any way—the
       right of the Shaikh to grant to others a lease or permit over an area or areas to be
       used for the purpose of constructing an aerodrome and appurtenances thereto for
       either aeroplanes or seaplanes; and such area or areas if and so granted shall be
       entirely excluded for the purpose of this agreement.

                                     Article 2
           The period of this Agreement shall be 75 Calendar years from the date of
       signature.
           The expression year, month and day used in this Agreement shall mean what is
       consistent with the English Solar Calendar and not any other. Further, the weights
       mentioned in this Agreement shall be reckoned on the English Ton of 2,240 lbs.
