        required, particulars of the quantities, descriptions and prices of Umm-al-Qaiwain
        oil or products sold to other customers and of charters or contracts entered into
        for carriage and shall exhibit to His Majesty’s Government original or authenti­
        cated copies of contracts or charter parties entered into for the sale and/or carriage
        of such oil or products.
            (5) His Majesty’s Government shall be at liberty to take control of the works,
        plant and premises of the Company in Umm-al-Qaiwain and in such event the
        Company shall conform to and obey all directions issued by or on behalf of His
        Majesty’s Government. Compensation shall be paid to the Company for any
        loss or damage that may be proved to have been sustained by the Company by
        reason of the exercise by His Majesty’s Government of the powers conferred by
        this sub-clause. Any such compensation shall be settled by agreement between
        His Majesty’s Government and the Company or, in default of agreement, by
        arbitration in the manner provided by sub-clause (3).

            Your honourable letter dated 23rd January, 1946, corresponding to 20th Safar
        1365 has reached me, the contents of which I have noted. In reply I inform Your
        Excellency that should 1 wish to grant permission to a Bank to open a branch or
        Agency for the Bank in my country as mentioned in Article 25 of the concession
        I shall obtain the approval of His Majesty’s Government before entering into any
        negotiations with the Bank.

                       RAS-AL-KHAIMAH OIL CONCESSION
       Concession Agreement between Petroleum Development (Trucial Coast), Limited,
                   and the Ruler of Ras-al-Khaimah, dated June 21, 1945
            This Agreement made the twenty-first day of June One Thousand Nine
        Hundred and Forty-five between His Excellency Shaikh Sultan bin Salem, Ruler
        of Ras-al-Khaimah and its territories (hereinafter called “ The Ruler ”) of the first
        part and Mr. Basil Henry Lermitte, attorney of Petroleum Development (Trucial
        Coast), Limited (hereinafter called “ The Company ”), of the other part.
