                         But it is doubtful that the procedure under which those countries
                         were admitted, as original Members, in the United Nations is relevant
                         to the discussion of the membership of the Shaikhdoms.1 It is quite
 I                       clear from that procedure that the original membership of the above
                         countries in the United Nations was decided on political rather than
                         legal grounds.2 Therefore, the membership of these countries con­
                         stituted a special case.
