       in rapid transition, in Oman as elsewhere in Arabia, it can be
       expected that the binding power of formally spoken words will
       become further weakened. It is to be hoped that these formulae and
       customs can be examined in greater detail than my material has
       allowed me to do here, before the culture they represent is replaced
       by a different kind of society.
