This file contains information regarding the formation, acitivites and subsequent disbandment of the Bahrain
Levy corps, a para-military force that existed on the island between 1924 and 1926.
The file contains detailed discussions regarding the creation of the corps including questions over its role,
size, ethnic composition and budget. The numerous diffilculties that the British faced in forming the corps
are also discussed.
The corps was disbanded in 1926 after one of its members shot (and killed) two Indian officers and injured the
Political Agent Clive Daly.
