Two special steamers of tbo Bombay Torsion Stoam Navigation Company
brought pilgrims back from Jedda in March and April 1906 and three steamers
of the same Company took away somo 1,200 in November and December.
11. No foreign steamers entered the port during 1905.
Exchange.—Tho Maria Theresa dollar opened tlio year at Rs. 137 per cent.,
its highest point, and closed at the same rate on the 31st December 1905. The
valuo varied but littlo during the year, the lowest rato being Rs. 130 per cent.
12. Freights.—Freights to and from India wero from Us. 10 to Rs. 12 per
ton throughout tho year. The rato for sholls to tho United Kingdom was JO 2
per ton.
