                                 OIL INSPECTION
(Report by Mr. G. B. Thompson, Government Oil Inspector).
Arabian Crude.—The quantity of Arabian Crude brought over for refining was slightly
more than in 1949, and represents just about the limit of the pipe-line capacity at present.
Owing to the somewhat increased relining capacity available in 1951, there will probably be
an increased demand for the supply of Arabian Crude and the additional .quantities will be carried
       by Tankers.
Bahrain Crude.—Production of Bahrain Crude remains fairly constant in the best interests
of the life of the field, and comparative figures for the past five years are as follows.
                    1365 1946 993.899 Tons.
                    1366 *947 1.190.3*9 Tons.
                    1367 1948 i.392.50i Tons
                    1368 1949 1.378.465 Tons.
                    1369/70 1950 1.383.3*0 Tons.
The second deep well has reached the stage where tests are being carried out.
Construction.—Nearly all the new construction work in hand to increase the capacity of
the refinery and the quality of the products produced was completed. The new pipe-lines-and storage
