                    It is understood that these areas are included in the area covered by this Deed and
                    granted^ W1    n° ^ur^lcr PaYmcnt or consideration for these permissions when

                                                  Article 11
                            C°mPany undertake to adopt all reasonable precautions (which shall
                    include the provision of the most modern equipment) to prevent the pollution of
                    the coastal waters by oil, mud or any other fluid or substance which might
                    contaminate the sea water or shore line.
                                                  Article 12
                        The Lease shall as from the date of this Deed be read and construed as if the
                    alterations of and to the Lease and the First Supplemental Deed set out in the
                    foregoing provisions of this Deed had been made in the Lease on the date of this
                    Deed and as so altered the Lease and the First Supplemental Deed are hereby
                    ratified and confirmed as valid and binding on the parlies thereto for all the
                    purposes thereof.

                        Dated this 19th day of June One thousand nine hundred and forty and
                    executed in three parts all having equal validity.

                    Agreement between the Bahrein Petroleum Company and the Ruler of Bahrain,
                          whereby Article XIX of the Mining Lease is to be disregarded until such
                          time as both parties consider it necessary, dated October 18, 1941

                        It is hereby agreed between His Highness Shaikh Sir Hamad bin ’Isa Al
                    Khalifah, K.C.I.E., C.S.I., Ruler of Bahrain of the one part (acting on the advice
                   of the British Political Resident in the Persian Gulf) and the Bahrain Petroleum
                    Company Limited of the other part, that Article XIX of the Lease of the
                   29th December, 1934, between the two parties shall be disregarded temporarily and
                   until such time as both parties consider it necessary, to the extent that all geological
                   plans, maps, records, etc., which the Company are required to maintain in Bahrain,
                   may be removed to a place of greater safety.
