Randy Jordan
Randy Jordan is in his forty-seventh year of teaching and conducting
choral music, the last seventeen with the Arlington Master Chorale.
Mr. Jordan has taught and directed elementary, junior high, high
school, college, church, and community choir since beginning his
career in 1975. He began teaching at Azle High School and then
moved to Arlington to become the first choral director at Martin
High School when it opened in 1982. Mr. Jordan retired at Martin in
2005, while transitioning to the Arlington Master Chorale.

In addition, he has served as Choral Director at Azle Christian Church, St. Matthew
UMC, St. Barnabas UMC, and as Choirmaster for University Christian Church in Fort
Worth. He has also served as adjunct professor of conducting, choral methods, student
teaching supervision, and director of University Singers at the University of Texas at
Arlington from 2012-2014.
Under his direction, the Arlington Master Chorale made their first appearance at
Carnegie Hall in New York in March of 2007 and have performed at St. Peter's Basilica in
Rome, St. Mark's Cathedral in Venice, the TCDA convention in San Antonio, the
SWACDA convention in Dallas as well as performances in Munich, Vienna, Budapest,
Barcelona, and Paris. AMC has performed such major works as the Beethoven 9th
Symphony (Choral) with the Fort Worth Symphony Orchestra, Bernstein's Chichester
Psalms, Orff's Carmina Burana, the Rutter Gloria, the Requiems of Rutter, Brahms, Faure,
Durufle, Wilberg, Sunrise Mass by Gjeilo, and the world premier performances of Cantus
Natalis and Carmina Pax by Z. Randall Stroope.
Mr. Jordan received his Bachelor of Music Education from Texas Tech University in 1975,
his Master’s Degree in Music Education from North Texas State University (now The
University of North Texas) in 1981, and his degree in Music Supervision from the
University of Texas at Arlington in 1994. He has studied with Gene Kenny, Frank
McKinley, Hal Gibbons, and post-graduate studies with Kenneth Davis, and the Bach
Symposium with Helmut Rilling in Eugene, Oregon. Professional affiliations include
TMEA, TCDA, ACDA, and TMAA, as well as membership in Phi Mu Alpha Sinfonia, Pi
Kappa Lambda, Who’s Who of American Teachers and is an Honorary Lifetime Member
of the Parent Teachers Association. He and his wife Debbie Duncan live in Arlington and
are proud parents/grandparents of four children and ten grandchildren.
Mr. Jordan is also a choral composer, having written works premiered by Martin High
School, Mansfield High School, and AMC. He is published by Carl Fischer, Alliance, and
Hal Leonard Music.
