President’s Welcome

Welcome to the 48th season of the Arlington Master Chorale. We
are as excited to have you with us for the concert as it is our pleasure to
come together to make music for you. We dedicate this concert to the
people of Arlington as our gift to you and we are glad you are here!

Can you even fathom that it has been 20 years since the 9/11
attacks on our country? You, like me, probably can remember exactly
where you were at the moment of the attack. It is one that is burned into
our memories for eternity. The music that you were going to hear tonight
will help us go back in time, and remember the hurt that we experienced
that day, and then move forward and experience (Lux Aeterna) eternal
light.

Before The concert starts, I hope you will take time to look
through our program. There are many things that I hope you will find
interesting. You can learn more about tonight’s program, find the Latin to
English translations, sign up for our email list, peruse our advertisers and
use their services, buy tickets to our Christmas Concerts, and see a list of
our donors.

But most importantly, presenting a concert like this is not free.
We must pay for our music, our professional orchestra members, guest
conductors, the venue (this beautiful Concert Hall), tech and sound
people behind the scenes to ensure everything is working, and publicity
and printing. We are very frugal. And we are very thankful for the grant
that we received from the Arlington Cultural Tourism Council that helped
fund this concert. But consider becoming a donor of Arlington Master
Chorale. You can find multiple ways to do that in your program. It can be
as easy buying groceries or everything else from Amazon, because a
percentage will fund our Choir. So, check it out!

But mostly, I want you to enjoy the concert!
