ExploreZimbabwe
Explore Zimbabwe takes place in September for our Grade 4-11 students and is designed to create opportunities to link classroom learning with real-life situations and to broaden student's experiences and understanding of Zimbabwe. The overarching purposes are:
1. Engage with Zimbabwe: engage with regional arts, history, food, architecture and most importantly, people.
2. Bond with peers: by stepping outside of the classroom, students shine in different ways. For new students in particular, these trips help forge new and lasting relationships.
3. Step out of your comfort zone: every Explore Zimbabwe trip incorporates a degree of discomfort and calculated risk. This may be in terms of being away from family, living conditions that may be unfamiliar or activities that may challenge students mentally or physically.
The 2018 Explore Zimbabwe destinations were:
Grade 4 - Day excursion with a focus on African Ecology Grade 5 - Imire Rhino and Wildlife Conservancy
Grade 6 - Esigodini: Bulawayo
Grade 7 - Painted Dog Conservation at Iganyana Bush Camp Grade 8 - Chimanimani Mountains
Grade 9 - Jabulani: Shangani Sanctuary
Grade 10 - Eastern Highlands: Nyanga
Grade 11 - Juru Village: sister school Kadjamadare
Our Grade 12 students remained on campus for ?Senior Week?to work on their Extended Essays, Theory of Knowledge (TOK) and Higher Level course work. After exams in May, they traveled as a close cohort to enjoy houseboating on beautiful Lake Kariba.
