The Arts, STEM & Cultural Events
This has once again been a creative year for the students at HIS. This includes an exciting range of trips, events, exhibitions, and performances. We hosted ISSEA Band and Choir in February 2019 with a positive atmosphere and a great sense that embraces both competition and camaraderie.
This culminated in a celebratory performance that demonstrated the student learning during the ISSEA event and honoured our richly diverse African continent.
In April, a group of our students traveled to IST, Tanzania, where they competed in a STEM event, combining creative and technological competences in programming.
Our HIScommunity continued with the 24-hour Run, an annual event where we support local initiatives. This year, 24 - hour Run funds went to Kuwirirana, a group of mothers of children with cerebral palsy, and Bird Life Zimbabwe.
A small group of parents was inspired to lead a Community Cabaret where students, parents and teachers performed in a collaborative and joyful performance. All proceeds supported the victims of Cyclone Idai.
Overall an inspiring year with many memorable occasions of student creativity!
After School Activities
HISoffers a wide range of stimulating After School Activities for our students.
PYP After School Activities at HIS are 'life lessons after classes'. The diversity of our after school program helps support developmentally appropriate physical, social, emotional and mental outcomes for our students' wellbeing. These activities include but are not limited to sports, arts, music, technology, culture, academic support, life skills and motor skill development.
