GUARD REVERSAL (SIT UP AND SWEEP)
Groundfighting
Kicking off from the guard will be your most common technique when you find
yourself on your back with someone in your guard. However, some determined
attackers will not allow you to create much distance or get away. In these cases,
you need to know how to reverse your position, rather than just escape. This
reversal can be done when the attacker, in your guard, sits back to punch.
STARTING POSITION: On your back, holding the attacker in a closed guard.
1. As the attacker sits back, sit up and put your feet on the floor.
