Edged-Weapon Threats
THREAT: The assailant drapes his weapon arm over your shoulder and places
the knife against your throat or neck. Often, you will be pulled backward,
compromising balance.
DANGER: While the assailant’s intent may be to move you or take property,
and/or give demands to third parties, you are very vulnerable. With this threat,
due to the proximity to the carotid artery and/or throat, only a small movement
by the assailant is required to inflict severe injury or death.
SOLUTION: Redirect and control the weapon hand while turning to face the
assailant and counterattacking. Krav Maga practitioners familiar with basic
