Visionnaire was appointed by Solidere to manage the master planning exercise, negotiate and secure approvals from public entities, and oversee the prepara- tion of tender documents for the reconstruction of Martyrs’ Square.
Martyrs’ Square is the symbolic heart of Beirut. Tragically the square was destroyed during the Lebanese Civil War. As part of its mandate to regenerate Beirut City Centre, Solidere will rebuild the square and the districts which sur- round it.
Visionnaire managed the pre-con- struction phase, and put forward a development vision in collabora- tion with the practice of Pritzker Prize laureate Renzo Piano. We worked closely with the client, the Council for Development and Re- construction and the Municipality towards agreeing the project pa- rameters and securing the public approvals and permits.
