Pilgrimages and Retreats
Travelling to see Jesus Christ
“TO go on pilgrimage really means to step out of ourselves to encoun- ter God where He has revealed Himself, where His grace has shone with particular splendour, and pro- duced rich fruits of conversion and holiness” Pope Emeritus Benedict XVI said.
In line with this insight and from Scripture about what happened after the birth of Jesus, “magi” relates to “travelling to see Christ”.
Magi Holidays has a vision “to help pilgrims to have spiritual encounter with Christ to deepen one’s faith and experience a lifelong change whilst on this journey”.
“The richness of being Christian is that we can see and touch the elements of our faith,” a spokesperson for Magi Holidays said.
“The holy places, like shrines, homes of
the saints, or places of miracles, help our faith become real. “These journeys aren’t just trips; they are spiritual journeys that bring together what we know in our hearts and what we see
with our eyes.
“In these journeys we planned for you to expe-
rience the living Christ.”
The spokesperson said Magi Holidays jour-
neys would “strengthen our faith and inspire our young generation”.
“So, we warmly invite you to step out in hope with Magi to see Christ,” they said.
Magi Pilgrimages have greater emphasis on re ection on the life of saints, celebrating Mass and meditating on the mysteries of Rosary at various sites.
“We have evening sessions at the hotel
to share the experiences of pilgrims and an orientation for the youth who journey with their parents,” the spokesperson said.
“Uncompromising with our quality and standards, we give you the same luxury class of prompt and ef cient services that you are ac- customed to.
“We are constantly looking to improve and extend our product range, and are always happy to custom-make itineraries to suit our customers’ needs and interests.”

PILGRIMAGES
Visit the resting place of an Australian saint
MARY MacKillop Place is rst and foremost a sacred place, a place of pilgrimage.
The chapel, built in honour of Mary MacKil- lop, was blessed and opened on January 19, 1914.
On January 28, 1914 her remains were transferred from the Gore Hill Cemetery to the Chapel where she rests today.
People come from all walks of life and diverse cultures to pray at the tomb of St Mary MacKillop or to sit quietly in the Chapel to re ect.
Set amidst the hustle and bustle of the North Sydney business district, it is an oasis of tran- quillity where people can savour the quiet and peace.
As a centre of pilgrimage and learning we offer prayer opportunities, pastoral concern, pil- grimage experiences, museum tours for students and adults, staff development days for schools and parish teams.
Each year we offer a National Pilgrimage that follows Mary MacKillop’s story from Mel-
bourne to Penola and Adelaide and concluding in Sydney.
You are invited to immerse yourself in the story of our co-founders Mary MacKillop and Julian Tension Woods by visiting the Museum, which is part of a complex of historic buildings built in the early 1900s.
One such building is Alma Cottage, which was Mary’s home from 1884 to 1909.
Hospitality is a hallmark of Mary MacKillop Place.
Whether you come as a pilgrim or as part of a conference group Sisters and staff offer a qual- ity of service that respects the dignity of all.
In these ways we honour the heritage left to us in Mary MacKillop’s life, work and spiritual- ity.
You are welcome to visit Mary MacKillop Place and continue the mission of Mary MacK- illop and the Sisters of St Joseph.
