Dear Mr. Romo,
The Bay Area Clean Water Agencies (BACWA) organization has been instrumental in
developing regional solutions for San Francisco Bay Area. I have had the opportunity
to work with the member agencies on regional projects that include the Regional
Biosolids Facility and the Nutrient Upgrades and Optimization Study. These
opportunities have illustrated to me the value and importance of the collaboration of
the member agencies to develop regional solutions and address common challenges.
I have experience that ranges from master planning through detailed design. As such,
I bring a broad range of relevant experience to the Executive Director position that
provide me with the following:
• Regional understanding of challenges facing the BACWA member agencies
with respect to potential future regulations on biosolids, nutrients, and air
emissions.
• Experience identifying multi-benefit projects that address wastewater
treatment, recycled water and water supply. Most recently, I have been
working with Central Contra Costa Sanitary District on the Recycled Water
Exchange project.
• Ability to find common ground with multiple stakeholders. I have had an
opportunity to work on regional projects with multiple project partners
and/or stakeholders. These experiences have equipped me with the skillset
to find common solutions and drive consensus.
Most recently, I have been leading the Bay Area business development group at
Brown and Caldwell, in addition to managing wastewater and recycled water projects.
My current and prior work experiences provide me with a thorough understanding of
regional challenges, the needs of the member agencies, and the different
perspectives that each agency brings to the table.
I look forward to learning more about this opportunity. Please contact me at 925-
330-2000 or at mramanathan74@yahoo.com to further discuss.
Sincerely,
Mallika Ramanathan
