■ The Position
Appointed by and reporting to to the the 12-member Board of of Directors the the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of of CHD is responsible for implementing the the mission and and strategic goals and and objectives of the the organization This complex position carries important political policy leadership managerial budgetary public relations and community affairs responsibilities The Executive Director carries out his/her duties with the support of approximately 200 staff and a a a a a a proposed operating budget of approximately $16 million for the 2019-20 fiscal year The CEO performs essential responsibilities and duties including:
» Board Board Board Administration and and and and and and and Support Support – Supports the the mission of CHD and and and and and and and the the volunteer tri-partite governance structure by advising and and and and informing informing Board Board members interfacing between Board Board and and and and staff and and and and informing informing and and and and supporting Board’s evaluation evaluation of of the the progress of of the the strategic plan and and and CEO’s evaluation evaluation and and and key financial and and and program benchmarks » Program Product and and and and Service Delivery – Oversees design marketing promotion delivery and and and and quality of CHD’s business divisions and and programs products and and services » Financial Tax Risk and and and and and Facilities Management – Recommends a a a a a a a a a a a a a a a a a a a a a a a yearly budget budget for Board approval and and and and and prudently manages organization’s resources within those budget guidelines according to current laws and regulations Ensures that required audits and tax filings such as as the Form 990 are completed on

a a a a a a a a a timely basis » Human Resources Management – Effectively manages the the the human resources of the the the organization according to to authorized personnel policies and and procedures that fully conform to to current laws and and regulations including employee recruitment retention compensation development disciplinary actions and safety » Community and and and and and Public Relations – Assures the organization and and and and and its mission programs products and and and and and services are consistently presented in a a a a a a a strong positive image to relevant stakeholders and partners » Fundraising – Oversees fundraising planning and and and implementation including identifying resource requirements researching funding funding sources sources establishing strategies to approach funding funding sources sources submitting proposals and administering fundraising records and documentation » Fund Development – Ensures the the the the financial resources resources resources necessary to to accomplish the the the the organization’s mission by identifying both public and private resources resources establishes strategies to approach these resources resources including the the cultivation of private donors obtains resources and and uses them effectively in in accordance with CHD’s mission and and appropriately tracks sources and and and uses of funds and and and acknowledges and and and thanks CHD’s supporters » Advocacy – The CEO must be the the the the most ardent supporter supporter of of the the the the organization and and and and and and the the the the clients served by CHD CHD promoting its its values in in in in in in in all relevant spheres and and maintaining its its standing in in in in in in in the community
