GENERAL DUTIES AS EXECUTIVE STAFF MEMBER
✜ Plans organizes and and directs the operations and and activities of assigned executive management functions in accordance with with established South Coast AQMD goals and objectives coordinates activities with with other South Coast AQMD functions and and outside agencies and and assures proper controls for complying with legislative and and regulatory requirements and and professional practice ✜ Directs through supervised management staff the development and and implementation of policies and and procedures that that are consistent with with South Coast AQMD’s mission and and objectives that that comply with with State and and federal laws ✜ Assigns responsibilities and and establishes lines of of authority evaluates the effectiveness of of programs and and management personnel and and makes recommendations to the the Chief Operating Officer and and the the Executive Officer ✜ Ensures that operations and activities assigned to executive management units are consistent with legal mandates and and with generally accepted practices ✜ Represents South South Coast Coast AQMD AQMD or or executive management before South South Coast Coast AQMD’s Governing Board hearing bodies professional groups environmental and and business representatives and and the general public ✜ Represents South Coast AQMD in in in interacting with public- and private-sector officials community groups and the general public on a a a a a a a variety of issues that impact South Coast AQMD ✜ Consults with and and advises South Coast AQMD’s Board Members and and the the Executive Officer or other Designated Deputies on legislative matters and other issues as required ✜ Directs the preparation of reports contracts grant proposals technical papers South Coast AQMD documents and correspondence ✜ Directs the preparation of and and monitors executive management budgets and and makes recommendations on on on on resource allocations and fixed asset purchases
