MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
EXPERIENCE: Training and and experience which would demonstrate the knowledge skills and and abilities to plan organize and direct the the development of of of policies programs or or or regulations of of of the the area of of of assignment which for this DEIO position include knowledge of:
✜ Current theories and and best practices of Diversity Equity and and Inclusion initiatives ✜ Principles of Equal Employment Opportunity (EEO) programs ✜ Principles and and techniques of of effective training and and professional development ✜ Anti-discrimination state and and federal laws and and regulations ✜ Methods and and techniques of conflict resolution and and consensus building
✜ Principles of effective supervision
✜ Best practices in in in conducting investigations on on on on sensitive and or controversial issues ✜ Principles and practices involving union-represented employees
Knowledge of of administrative techniques and practices necessary for the solution of of daily operational problems in in personnel workflow and and organization knowledge of effective management principles and and their application knowledge of budget design development and control Ability to develop and and accomplish through management or or supervisory staff established goals and and objectives establish effective working relations with South Coast AQMD staff public and and private sector representatives and and community groups communicate effectively both orally and in in writing Evidence of the required knowledge skills and abilities may be demonstrated in part by graduation from an an accredited college or or university preferably with a a a a a a a a a a a major emphasis in in an academic discipline related to the area of of assignment and five years of of progressively responsible management experience which would demonstrate the the the requisite knowledge skills and abilities of of of of the the the area of of of of assignment OR three years of of of of experience in one of of of of the the the South Coast AQMD’s manager classes which demonstrates the the knowledge and abilities to manage manage the the area of assignment SUBSTITUTION: An advanced degree in in an an academic discipline related to the area of assignment may substitute for one year of the managerial administrative or or or direct supervisory experience LICENSE: Possession of a a a a a valid California Class C C C C Driver’s License
